I am saddened at the loss of my Friend and Vocal Idol ,
Bishop Dr. Walter L. Hawkins
I had the Honor and Privilege to Serve Under Bishop Hawkin’s leadership as
Head of Communications for Love Center Ministries.During this time I got to know the Teacher,
Brother,Pastor and Artist that is Walter Hawhins. His knack for always “Getting it Right” is what made him
the Icon and Powerful Man that he was. As A friend he showed me what true friendship is and taught me to Believe,to Dream and then
Make it Happen, As a Pastor and Spiritual leader he Lived What he Preached not concerned with what Other’s said
about him but rather What The Almighty wanted by His Convictions. So Lived this Powerful Spirit Walter Hawkins.
The Artist Walter Hawkins was my Vocal Idol! As A teen in the Caribbean(St.Thomas),I sang in our Youth Choir and other Gospel
groups and I was given Love Alive !,2&3 to learn and sing several of Walter’s Lead parts. That’s when i knew I wanted to Sing. Walter Hawkins was Incredible then and will be Incredible forever in My Humble Opinion. Working for Him as a Sound Engineer
taught me How Sound is done for the Big Boys.He knew how to articulate what he wanted from his Sound,Lights and Fellow Artists.
His Legacy will live among all who have ever had the Privilege to Experience this One Of A Kind Voice Live or Recorded .The World will Cherish Forever the gift of His Music,His Voice and Being a Living Example of “Living for God”.
Bishop Dr. Walter L. Hawkins will always be known as one of The Most Recognized Voices in the World.
